Melatonin: a master hormone, affecting other hormones and neurotransmitters, and a powerful anti-oxidant produced by the brain, which, when released, travels through the bloodstream and functions to SIGNAL the synchronization of the circadian rhythms found within every cell of the body.  Melatonin causes the cells of the body to work effectively as a whole, granting the correct period-durations and synchronization-separations for repair and productivity within every cell in the body. As an anti-oxidant, it also assists in cellular repair, and its effects on neurotransmitters also affect the brain’s functioning. This hormone is the orchestra’s Conductor that unifies all the cells of the body to play the right note at the right time for the song. Melatonin entrainment is driven by one’s light hygiene habits.
